Parent and Carer Launch Event at Henry Schein
On Wednesday 20th January, Parents and Carers of Forward2Employment interns were invited to a launch event at Henry Schein. They were able to see where the students work to help them get a better understanding of the Supported Internship programme from a business point of view and of how well their young people are progressing.
Some key members of staff from Henry Schein presented at the event:
Steve Tredwell, Director of Business Systems, spoke about the positive impact of an internship programme on the company as a whole, which was greatly received.
Ashley Doe, Warehouse Manager, talked about the achievements the interns are making in the warehouse and their progress so far. We were delighted to hear that the students have a 100% accuracy rate when picking products which is fantastic news for our students and the Forward2Employment team.
Sam Roper, Director of Purchasing, who told us how she couldn’t wait to get on board with our scheme and is thrilled that one of our interns has joined her team. He has made great headway and is making a big impact on the purchasing department, adding value to the department.
Finally, but by no way least our interns presented a PowerPoint of their time so far at Henry Schein. The students read confidently and made us very proud of their achievements to date.
A massive thank you to Henry Schein for letting us use the viewing room for the event, and their continued support of Forward2Employment and the interns. Also huge congratulations to the interns for their progress so far.
